MCI restriction: Open School students are not eligible for NEET

MCI Announcement:
The medical council of India (MCI) has barred students who have completed class 12th examination through open and distance mode from attending medical Entrance Examination. (NEET).

NIOS:
The National Institute of Open schooling under the human resource development (HRD) ministry said the decision will affect thousand of students to pursue the medical education.
More than 2lakhs students register every year with NIOS and close to 3,000 had registered for NEET exam in 2017. Across India the number is higher out of 3,000 student 864 qualified the tst too. So its unfair to bar them from NEET examination.

Final Announcement:
Finally, the HRD minister Prakash Javadekar and Union health minister JP Nadda has decided to hold a meeting on Wednesday and take a call on the issue.

The directorate of Government examination Chennai has released the exam schedule for 12th board examination 2018. The exam begins from March 1, 2018 to April 6,2018.

Exam Timing:
The exam paper will provide to the candidates at 10.00 AM. candidates will be given 10 minutes to verify the particulars and begin writing from 10.15 AM. Each exam will be held for THREE hours,ending at 1.15 PM.

CBSE Exam 2018:
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally released the exam date sheet for class 12 boards.The exams which will begin from March 5 will continue till April 12.
A score of at least 33 per cent in their internals and practicals is required to pass the subject and at least 33 per cent in the board theory examination to clear the subject as a whole. Also, the practicals are slated to begin from January 16.

NEET Exam 2018:
NEET(National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) is an All India entrance exam conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) for admissions to MBBS/BDS courses in India offered by MCI (Medical Council of India).

Aadhaar card Mandatory:
Aspirants who are planning to appear for NEET Exam in 2018 could face trouble, if they do not have Aadhaar card. Because, UID (Unique Identification Number) has been made mandatory while registering for NEET Exam.

CBSE News:
The CBSE which conducts National eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) also informed the interested candidates to submit their Aadhaar card details to register for the examination.

The board will be validating the information provided by the applicant with the government Aadhaar card data base. If the details are not matching, the applicants will not be able to fill the online form.

NEET admit cards issued on 22nd April 2017.

Putting an end to anxiety among medical aspirants across the country, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said students can avail their admit cards on April 22 for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET).

“In view of the orders of the Supreme Court to accept the applications of candidates beyond 25 years of age, admit cards will now be available on April 22. The results of NEET will be applicable for admissions to medical and dental seats across the country and other health science courses in Maharashtra.

These admit cards were to be released by April 15 and since the board maintained silence about the delay, students as well as parents got worried.

NEET 2017 will be held across 103 cities across the country, including 11 in Maharashtra itself, on May 7.

Instructions to fill NEET 2017 Application Form

Candidates before filling the application form must read the following instructions for the application process of NEET 2017. In order to fill the application form successfully and without delay, candidates must make the following preparations:

Required information to fill NEET form

  • The candidates must check the eligibility criteria before filling the Application Form.

  • Candidates should verify that the details mentioned such as their name, name of their father/ mother, date of birth, correct address, mobile number and e-mail id in the NEET 2017 Application form should correctly match with the particulars in the identification documents.

  • All the applicants are responsible for providing correct information such as postal address, contact details, email id and mobile number. The Board will not be responsible for any incorrect address or contact details in the application form.

  • One candidate can send only one application form. If done otherwise, the candidate’s candidature is liable to be cancelled. Also, incomplete application forms will be summarily rejected.

Photographs and Signature requirements

  • Candidates must scan their latest passport size photograph (size of 10 Kb to 100 Kb). The photograph must have a white background clearly indicating the name of the candidate along with the date of taking the photograph.

  • Signature (size of 10 Kb to 100 Kb) and Right Hand Index finger impression (size of 3 Kb to 20 Kb) in JPG format only.

  • At the examination center during NEET 2017 Examination, the Centre Superintendent will collect the candidate’s post card size (4”x6”) photograph affixed on Performa. It is important that the photo has been taken on or after 01.01.2017, clearly indicating the name of candidate along with the date of taking the photograph.
  • On the reverse side of the photograph, candidate must mention their name, Application Form number, roll number of examination.

  • Candidates must bring additional copies of passport size photographs, clearly indicating the name of candidate along with the date of taking the photograph.

  • Photograph should not have cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed if being used regularly. Applications without clear photographs are liable to be rejected.

  • For Signature, candidates have to upload their signature in the appropriate box given in the online Application Form in running hand writing. Writing full name in the Box in Capital letters would not be accepted as signature. Doing so can lead to cancellation of the application form.

How to Apply for NEET 2017

 

In order to complete the NEET Application Form, candidates must follow the steps given below:

New Registration

  1. Visit the official website.
  2. On the left hand side of home page, applicants will see options like, ‘Apply Online’, ‘Candidate Login’ and ‘Forgot Registration Number’
  3. Applicants should click on ‘Candidate Login’,
  1. In case the applicant has forgotten their password, they need to click on ‘Forgot Password’ on the candidate log-in page. The necessary details should to be filled out to recover the password.
  1. If the candidate has forgotten their registration number, they should click on ‘Forgot Registration Number’ on the official website and fill out the necessary details.
  1. If the candidate is a new user or is registering for the first time, they will click on ‘Apply Online’ on the official web site.
  1. A new page will open which would list important instructions for the application form. At the bottom of the page, the candidates will see a button flashing, ‘Proceed to apply Online NEET 2017’. Applicants should click on this button.
  1. A new page will open which would have the instructions related to filling the application form. Candidates have to click on ‘I agree’ and ‘Submit’ to proceed further.
  1. Candidates will fill the required information and click on ‘Submit’ if they are satisfied with their entry or will click on ‘Reset’ to make changes.
  1. The candidate will successfully register and will be required to log-in on their candidate profile to start filling the application form.
  2. After the filling the details, click on ‘Next’ to proceed or can click on ‘Reset’ if they are not satisfied with the information or want to make any changes.
  3. Once the applicant clicks ‘Next’, they will be taken to the next step of uploading the documents.
  4. Candidates have to upload their passport size photograph, signature and Right Hand Index Finger Impression.
  5. The candidate should ensure that the documents are as per the instructions and are uploaded in their provided space. After this the programme will automatically take the candidate to next step of application process.
  6. Candidates will make the payment of application fees by choosing the payment mode most appropriate for them.
  1. After the payment of application fees, candidates will be redirected to the last step where they will print the confirmation page. This confirmation page must be kept by the candidate as a proof of fees payment and future references.

  2. Printing the confirmation page means that the application has been submitted. If the candidate cannot see the confirmation page, it means that they have skipped one of the steps.

NEET 2017: Health ministry introduces state-level common counselling

After CBSE conducted NEET UG last year, the Ministry in consultation with States and other stakeholders had issued advisory last year to the states to preferably conduct combined counselling for admission to MBBS courses for session 2016-17.

  • Common counselling for admission to medical courses at the under graduate and post graduate levels.
  • According to the amendments made in relevant regulations of MCI, the designated authority at the State/ UT level shall conduct common counselling for all medical education institutions in the state whether established by the Central Government, State Government, University, Deemed University, Trust, Society, Company, Minority Institutions or Corporation, read the official press release.

  • Students need not apply to multiple agencies for admission in the same state.

  • The ministry aimed that the move will help to bring transparency in the admission process and control the practice of capitation fee charged by private colleges.

  • All Deemed Universities shall also be part of common counselling for admission in common courses organized either by State Government or Central Government or through its agencies based on the marks obtained in NEET.

  • It is also clarified that the counselling for All India Quota seats at under graduate and post graduate level will continue to be conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
